boss kills

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE

I really dislike Futurama, but we finally got Putricide down on January 31st.

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE

We finally killed Putricide on January 31st. I really hate Futurama. That is all.

Second Floor - Lingerie, Appliances, and Lusty Vampire Elves

We've been rather busy here at Fordragon's Reprise, but unfortunately your intrepid narrator's computer has suffered some losses. Namely my screenshot folder. Also a lot of lag/disconnects on bosses! Hence why there's at least several boss kill pictures missing here. We tromped our way through the first floor of the Citadel immediately, even taking on Saurfang quite handily. Our mages don't stop dying on Gunship, we have people running into ice gas, but we trudge on.

Plague and Blood Wings have proved to be trickier but our morale is high.

Change the colour palette on this and you'd have our Rotgut kill too.
Soon, soon, we will have Putricide and Lanathel's head on spikes! We mean it!

Oh, We Are the Busiest of Bees

There's things that impress me in this world. One of those things is how marshmallows can't be singly eaten. Another is the human spirit.

Third is our raid team.

Our Yogg-Saron defeat came in no more than a couple raiding days, and schoolgirls everywhere sighed in relief. Our victory relied heavily on ancient Ulduar secrets such as "PRESS TEH BUTTAN HARDUR" and "healers staying alive." When it was all said and done, we felt a little wilder, a little more insane. (Well, except Nellenya, she's already titularly Insane.)

Again, another boss that's impossible to get at a good angle. (06/22/09)

It's crazy to me that this last boss is palpably a new beginning to the instance, one of hardmodes and one hour spawn bosses that could decide the fate of our universe. So while Yogg Saron's door has closed, a window opened... uh...somewhere. I've never been good with stuff like this.  Either way, we were not content to just rest on our laurels and get drunk like other guilds after a finishing boss kill. What did we do? We partied with some iron dwarves and did Iron Council medium-mode:

One of the awesome things about doing I Choose You, Molgeim and Steelbreaker is you get these neat data disks that outlay the hard-mode unlocking of Algagon instructions.
Sadly, Deodan got the data disk and therefore, being a man, we will never actually ask for these directions.

Yogg-Saron being defeated means that now we here at Fordragon's Reprise are looking towards hard-modes. Good thing there's so MANY of them! Much in the spirit of our aggressive train-wreckers, we demolished Flame Leviathan with two towers:

And our first real hard-mode ever, XT-002 (Heartbreaker):

Progress is strong, we have 8 [Fragment of Val\'anyr] towards Gradar's Mallet of E-Peen and the horizon looks bright.

(BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!)

Sever the Body, the Brain Will Die

My sincerest apologies for not posting sooner, faithful readers.

Fordragon's Reprise has been moving ever upwards in their quest to be molested by a tentacle monster.

Mimiron proved to be a difficult challenge, due to rockets and insane healing demands, but with a little experimentation, I believe we all came out the better for it.

We had 5 or 6 people left standing on our first kill. I was tanking the head, unknowingly. Jokes abound, really. (5/17)

We found the key to defeating General Vezax rested on two things - totems and not wiping to trash. We were heartily rewarded for our efforts of having a heavy-melee raid after some of us spent most of the time huffing saronite vapors.

Shut up, I know this is a terrible shot. It's like trying to find a good angle for your Aunt Ethel. One does not exist in Euclidian geometry. (5/25)

And so now we trudge forward to that great giant miasma of brain goo and angry women. Wish us luck.

Three Down, One Left to Go

Fordragon's Reprise has been slowly winning the Titan Keepers to our side. Putting points in Diplomacy helps.

On Sunday, we finally harnessed the power of mojo and mastered the arena/tunnel dance and downed Thorim.

You can see the boss way in the background, despite this artist's insistence that we get an upskirt.

Monday was our final day of the reset and despite morale being low due to Blizzard nerfs to the instance, and our fearless leader Gradar catching swine flu, we managed to bring enough weed killer to seduce Freya and her rock-hard booty. We ultimately decided that if any shards for the epic mace dropped that we'd fashion them into cunning hats.

See the raiydahs in they-urr nahturawl haybeetat.

We have made so much headway these past few weeks, and now only Mimiron is left standing amongst his Titan brethren. I ask you this, good people:

Who keeps the Keepers?

Three More Titans Busted Up!

Fordragon's Reprise has continued their streak this reset of punching very large giants in the goolies.

The Council of Iron was our first stop and after figuring out the whole "this circle is good, this circle is bad" thing and eventually getting my butt off the floor from being dead, we downed the bug dwarven trio! Proper respect goes to Adrine for having a dual-spec that includes 4 interrupts.

We found a really awesome backroom that will unveil more secrets of Ulduar as we progress further into the dungeon. Notice our stellar campfire positioning. We were really psyched to start Hodir, obviously.

After that, we did our second bout with Kologarn. This was not noteworthy with the exception of our very first [Fragment of Val'anyr]! The decision to give the shards and eventual mace was a raid-wide decision but ultimately rested on our healers. Thusly, with much gnashing and flailing and self-flagellation, Gradar dutifully accepted the first of many shards that will ultimately give him a bigger ego mace.

A good portion of our time on Sunday was spent just figuring out the pull to the next boss, Auriaya. I suspect someone in the dungeon design department of Blizzard has a fetish or perhaps loathing of team-building exercises ('99) and therefore wanted us to down the boss only using immolation trap, our wits and some pipe cleaners. Thankfully, we all managed to learn to trust eachother, get line of sight and downed Auriaya. She doesn't shave, by the way, as Nellenya found out.

You can see her feet there in the photo. Half our raid is also in rabbit-form.

Last but not least, this Monday, we knocked out Hodir, much to our surprise, since we still have trouble even getting to the boss in question. This boss is a stone cold bitch. Man. Stone cold man.
Thing. Titan.

Yet another screenshot where the boss isn't even in the picture. No one's going to believe us now, guys.

Grats to Adrine and Fellina for our first raid tier 8 chestpieces!

[FR] Ignis the Furnace Master is Shattered, and Kologarn Out...Armed?

Our second night in Ulduar was full of swift vengence, particularly towards Ignis, considered one of the harder bosses pre-hard modes for some. We went in and put the old Fordragon's Reprise try into it and successfully got him down. However, we still wipe on his trash. Go figure.

SUPERHEATED WINDS THIS, BLIZZARD.

There's a better shot of us from above, but I felt this one was more artsy. Next up was Kologarn - we were running short on time, but the angry eye-beaming giant was effectively arm-wrestled by our capable healers and our newly-restored kiting tactics. Felmyst 2.0 anyone?

MERELY A FLESH WOUND, EH, KOLOGARN? OR ARE WE ONE STEP "AHEAD" OF YOU?

Stay tuned for more progress on this week's reset.

Flame Leviathan Busted, Razorscale Impaled and XT-002 Broken Down

Due to server instability from patch 3.1, Fordragon's Reprise had to contend with two additional, previously fought bosses from beta - Blue Bar Boss and World Server Down Boss. Thankfully, both these were conquered. Even though we got a late start to Ulduar raiding (starting Sunday, April 19th), we got off on the right foot as fast as we could hope for. 3 bosses down the first night of raiding in the newest end-game instance, that's definitely a hat trick!

Flame Leviathan was far too demolished to snap a picture, but Razorscale and XT-002 did much better at letting us pose on their dead bodies.

Next part of exciting raid adventure coming shortly.
