Joining Guild of Guilds

Born out of a necessity to tackle the original WoW raid content – Upper Blackrock Spire – an alliance was formed among three smaller guilds, folks who knew each other loosely from another online community (Formopulous), being; Northrend Commenwealth, Southsea Buccaneers, and Alliagre. When Blizzard added additional raid content, 40man raids, another guild was brought in to help up the membership pool to pull from, being; Unbroken. Though having the backbone of tackling raids, the community that spawned was one that covered all areas of gameplay, from roleplay to PvP – a strength that the guild of Guilds enjoys to this day. Though loyalty remained to ones original guild, there also came to be a strength and integrity among the collective community that’s resulted in a positive reputation on Cenarion Circle, even now six years later.

Membership in the Guild of Guilds begins with membership in one of the member guilds, primarily gained through contacts and thus invite from the members. Each guild has its own unique atmosphere and thus requirements for joining, so if interested it is best to speak to members of that guild. We’re all a rather friendly and chatty bunch, who are all quite willing to talk about the other!

In general, however, Northrend Commonwealth is a guild of those conscious and concerned with the more story-related elements of the game, from discussions about story arcs to leading the community in active roleplayers. Southsea Buccaneers was primarily those focused on gameplay and mechanics, those seeking to maximize their experience in terms of measurable output and production, be it in PvP or PvE. Alligare was... Alliagre, not easily defined and impossible to dismissing. Unbroken is more of a family-of-friends style of environment, one openly proud of its tolerances and willingness to do just about anything.

With the addition of Cataclysm there has been a new member guild to the collective, that of reprise, the raid-based guild. Focused on being a member-conscious and understanding group that raids less than ten hours a week, they still strive to be productive, if not progressive for the server, and seek to face new content rather than just farm ‘the easy stuff’. Membership in Reprise requires applying, review and trialing.

All of the Guild of Guilds uses Mumble, a Vent-like-but-we-believe-better-than-Vent program, of which we tend to hang out and chat in on any given night of the week. If you’re interested in seeing what we’re really like, feel free to grab it and pop in and just randomly chat with any of us! We welcome it!

Across Cenarion Circle, from in-game to the forums, and especially on our own here, we’re a rather active bunch, so tend to be involved in most any aspect of WoW on any given night. Heroics, regular dungeon runs, raids, PvP, roleplay… we’re doing all of these most every night of the week!
